 Bus

Throughout the day and well into the evening, buses from Magaluf to Palma run every 35 minutes or so.

The cost is less than £2.50 for the journey so they are excellent value for money.

One word of advice these buses can become very crowded and have in the past been known to attract pickpockets.

The following bus routes are operated by the “Consorci de Transports de Mallorca”:

 Restaurants

On a holiday to Magaluf you might be surprised at just how many good restaurants there are.

These include British, Mexican, Italian, Chinese and American restaurants, as well as many serving superb Spanish cuisine.

Shopping

Magaluf is the party capital not the shopping capital so if you fancy some retail therapy we recommend taking a trip to Porto Pi shopping centre, located to the west of Palma de Mallorca, close to the cruise ship terminal. Porto Pi is a modern shopping centre over six floors and 140 shops.

There are also plenty of eateries covering all types of cuisine, and there is a multi-screen cinema (showing English language films), a ten-pin bowling centre, a games & arcades area, and a fitness centre. It’s open 09.30 to 21.30 (closed Sundays).

 Supermarket

There are several small supermarkets nearby selling basic items, drinks, canned goods, bakery items etc. For larger grocery shopping there is a BIP supermarket not far from Katmandu on the Avenida Pedro Vaquer Ramis.

This has a large selection of food and drinks with fresh meat and fish. A little further, on the edge of town, travelling towards Palmanova, you will find an Eroski (chain supermarket) in Calle Paris.

This has an extensive range of groceries, fresh produce and even a take-away food option.Around town you will also find a range of souvenir shops, jewellery stores and fashion stores with brand clothing.

Taxi

Taxis are worth considering when a number of people can travel together, there are numerous taxis that operate about the resort.
Fares are very reasonable, however, we always suggest that it is better to agree the fare in advance, especially when going out of the resort, and always try to have the correct money (plus the obligatory tip).

  Weather

Mallorca weather in June average temperature starts off at 18-19°C and gradually rises until it reaches 23°C, making it a fantastic month to enjoy a sunshine holiday

Transfers

we advise booking one of our transfers in advance via the Garage Nation in the Sun 2018 online booking system. However you can jump in a taxi to Magaluf too, taxis can be found outside the airport.
The approximate cost is 60 Euros and the journey time to Magaluf is about half an hour from the airport (approximately 20km)

 Beach and Water Sports

Playa de Magaluf is the leading beach of Magaluf. It has amazing fine golden sand which stretches to almost 1km along crystal clear waters.
From the beach you have a good view of the 'Illa de Sa Porrassa' and you can watch the various party boats and boat trips coming into the jetty.
You will find plenty of sunbeds and parasols for rent. The main part of the beach has the pedestrian walkway ‘Paseo Maritimo’.
This is where you will find many of the newer bars and restaurants, all easily accessible from the beach/promenade area.
As for water sports; holidaymakers may also find all kinds of water sports activities at the Magaluf beach such as water ski, jet ski, banana-riding, pedal boats and paragliding.

Hospitals

Mallorca has several good Hospitals and numerous Health Centres with the latest technology and treatments available. There are also some Private Hospitals and various Private Clinics.

The standard of health care is excellent in general. If you have travel insurance, this should cover most health care bills and the European Health Card can cover some basic health care.

The rules for reciprocal treatment under the EU are continually changing therefore it is best to confirm charges before undergoing treatments.
